Brushless Servo motors with built-in encoders and drive amplifiers, not
separate components and cables. Industrial style screw
secured D connectors, not push together type with exposed terminals.
Low
backlash planetary gearboxes with helical cut gears and ball bearings
for quiet operation. We do NOT use timing belts, pulleys and
bushings for gear reduction.
Large pinion gears #12 pitch custom ground to our
specifications for low noise and low drag. These are not your standard
off the shelf straight cut gears that chatter. We use a large
13mm pinion shaft with a key, not wimpy drill rod and friction fit.
Air operated engagement has adjustable pressure by supplied regulator and
allows zero backlash while preventing machine lock-up from slag splatter.
The compliancy of the pneumatics will allow the drives to ride over problems
rather than jamming. Unlike some competitors who have no
compliancy, (they bolt the bolt drives to a solid mount) where an drive amp
can burn out if a small slag gets caught in the rack, or if stepper system,
they will loose position control. Large #12 pitch gear rack allows
deep tooth contact for high acceleration, long life and tolerance for dirt
buildup. Racks come in 12 ft lengths to eliminate rack section
splicing of joints. Master side Racks and rail are sandwiched together for
support, simplicity and space savings.
Dual
beam gantry for stiffness and strength. This is not a single T
or triangle style. 4 rollers to support the gantry not 3. Master
side uses V-rollers. Precision ground to shape, not flat or crowned cam
follower bearings that were not designed for the application.
V-rollers self clean the rail. Cam follower styles require scrapers that
must be maintained or dirt will cause machine to rumble and shake. Our
V-rail is hardened and ground to shape. It is not simply a mill-tolerance
flat bar. The Y axis uses precision ground linear guideway with dual
bearing blocks for high stiffness and ling life. These blocks are
sealed and use re-circulating balls just like the $100K machines.
These are Not cam followers on a flat bar.
We also use Hard stops for homing and not limit switches. This
eliminates the wires (which can burn in this environment and short
out) We use software limit switches so the machine will know when
the end of travel is coming up and make the appropriate slowdown in advance,
rather than being surprised when all of a sudden at full speed, it is being
told that it has to stop, and stop NOW! as is the case with hardwired limit
switches. All cable carriers are included. These industrial
cable carriers have snap-open design to insert cables, not snake them
through.
Ball
screw driven Lifter station.
It uses a precision ground linear guide for alignment, not a
bolt-in-slot. Ballscrew drive for low drag and high precision. It is
not an ACME screw or even worse, a threaded rod. Sealed enclosure uses low
air flow to prevent dirt intrusion, not brushes and seals that wear
out. Ball bearings support the screw assembly. Not bushings that wear
out. 4 inch vertical travel slide to clear tip up’s and keep the
torch out of harm when loading or unloading table. Lifter drive is
coupled with a servo helical coupling. No backlash and no load on motor
bearings. Smart motor torch height control standard.
Optional capacitive THC for oxyfuel cutting uses smart motor control
for height setting at the PC. Dual torch capability for oxy and plasma
torch on the same machine with optional torch holder for stowing torch that
is not in use.
Optional dry dust and smoke collection table. Easier to
clean out than water table. Wet parts can rust, our system uses no
water. No mess unloading wet parts. Has no moving parts. No
“zones” with moving baffles etc. Center collection trough with
door at end for cleanout access. Highly efficient anywhere on the table
without need to block off unused table area. Deflectors lift out for
cleaning. No tools required. Access doors for annual inspection access

We can

Control console has easy connection points for plasma and oxyfuel
solenoids already supplied. Console supplies power for solenoids or
external AC powered devices. No need to splice in power. E-stop button
supplied on front. P3 connector on back allows user to add many E-stop
buttons anywhere convenient. Simple installation. Drive power supply has a standard 6.7 amps
and optional 12.5 amps and up to 25 amps as needed. Shared power means
motor pulls what it needs up to full power supply amperage. Each drive
can pull up to maximum power supply rating. Most OTHER systems that have
remote drive amp boxes will limit each drive to equal share of supply rating
(example: 6 amps supply / 3 motors = 2 amps each drive.)
Optional fiber optic communication links extend machine travel to
long distances with no degrading of signals.
Optional dual drive uses same gearbox and drive components as master
side. Direct encoder linking of master to slave eliminates syncro
circuit boards, separate redundant drive instructions, and external devices.
Slave motor follows master motors encoder 1:1 ratio using Smart Motor
firmware. Master and slave motors home independently to hard
stops. This re-checks machine square-ness and adjusts each time software is
started.
