Warranty Frequently Asked Questions for Non-LawyersDynatorch warrants its products for one year from date of purchase and covers both labor and materials. When does this warranty start? Similar to most retailers... the day you pay for and walk out of the store with the product in you hands, your warranty begins. Likewise for your Dynatorch system, either the day the Dynatorch system leaves our dock or you pick it up from our factory you have 365* days. Dynatorch will, at its option, repair or replace any defective part returned to the factory for operational evaluation. What? I have to send the system back for repair? Actually, what we offer is a replacement service. We know that your machine makes production for you and it hurts when it is out of production. Therefore if a part is determined to be non-functional after discussions with our technical support team, we can ship out a replacement part quickly to get you back up and running as soon as possible. What will be required though, is a deposit on the replacement part, typically with a credit card. Once we receive the defective part back, and evaluate it for the warranty compliance, we will issue a credit if it IS a warranty defect. Why do we do this? You would be amazed at how many customers DO NOT send the defective parts back, this give them just a little more incentive to do so. Warranty is VOID if products are abused in any manner (normal wear and tear excepted). Product abuse includes, but is not limited to: Connecting defective external equipment, including plasma generators, to the Dynatorch system; Improper or defective electrical grounds, and over voltage connections of any sort; Customer alteration of Dynatorch products without the written consent of the Dynatorch Corporation. Abuse... Normal wear and tear is expected. However, we do not warrant abuse. Abuse is any condition under which the Dynatorch machine and its components were not made to operate under. Such as but not limited to machine being operated in an outdoor environment, improper grounding, putting more weight on the cutting table than it was intended to hold. Grounds? "We don't need no stinkin' grounds". "In fact, we weld trailer hitches to cars and trucks all the time and NEVER disconnect the battery terminals, never had a problem, until they started putting them computers in cars." Seriously, grounding is a very important issue. Improperly grounded systems will damage electronic components. Each motor on the Dynatorch system has a computer in it (hence Intelligent Servo). We insist that a separate ground rod (available from most hardware supply store) be drilled into the earth right below the machine. The table, gantry, plasma, etc be connected to that single ground rod with a substantial ground strap.. (substantial is NOT #12 gauge wire). We also insist that you connect the ground clamp of the plasma unit to the material being cut, and NOT the support table or slats. Remember, a plasma cutter is positive ground, our controls are negative ground, floating grounds get added together! If the plasma was set for 135 volts, we have 48 volts control voltage... well there could be 135+48 == 183 volts differential... not good for a 48 volt system.... Alterations? Any alterations made to the Dynatorch machine or any of its components must be approved by a Dynatorch engineer first. Making alterations without prior approval voids warranty and in most serious cases can void mechanical tech support. Written consent for alterations must also be obtained. Defective external equipment...If a part becomes defective, call Dynatorch tech support immediately - DO NOT try to fix the part yourself as doing so could cause further damage to the machine, yourself, or could also void your warranty.
